Right out of the box, all I could say is WOW.  It is clearly an upgrade in all respects over my Mac C2200, from the trememdous musicality to the naturalness and presence of the vocals to realistic sounding instruments to sound staging, and imagaing.  I am even hearing excellent bass, and my system is not a "bass-focused" system (with the 6 watt/channel PX25 and monitor speakers (Discovery from Wilson Benesch).  And my Mac was no light weight (which was a significant upgrade from my Modulus 3A - actually in different leagues).  Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the purchase, and, you're right, at the price I feel it's a tremendous value.
