| I am delighted with the improvement
it brings to my system. I won't burden you with too many details,
so as I summarize what I like most about the BC21.1, keep in mind
that my reference preamp has been a passive. With the BC21.1,
I don't feel I've lost significant transparency or detail.
Musical notes are rounder but not lacking in speed or attack, and
decay is sustained naturally without the abruptness I had been accustomed
to. Tonality and timbre are spot on - there is just a vibrancy to
the music that makes listening a joy. And voices! The BC21.1
is uncanny in its ability to convey the emotion in the human voice.
Thanks again, Kevin and I'll be leaving you feedback on Audiogon.

Hi, Kevin,
We are very pleased with the BC 21.1. My wife, who is not
an audiophile, came into the room and remarked how much better
the music sounded. I was struck by the sense of presence,
especially on voices, but my wife was struck by the bass, which
she characterized as "stronger." I am now
about to embark on a rediscovery of hundreds of CDs, some
of which I haven't listened to for years.

The BC21.1 is working marvellously. Excellent detail, bass
is improved over the BP-25 and I can listen without fatigue.
The top end is also very pleasing to listen to. All-in-all
a very good Preamp that works very well with the McCormack amps.

I am liking the BC21.1 more and more as I continue to listen.
The resolution is much better and it just seems like it is
more "fun" to listen to. I know that fun isn't
really the kind of term you find in audio reviews, but it seems
to be the right word. I am spending more time smiling and
enjoying the music rather than analyzing how the highs and mids
and bass are sounding.

BTW, this has to be the most incredibly beautiful equipment I've
ever seen. I'm really happy with it. Kevin, I honestly think you
are the BEST dealer I've ever had the pleasure of doing business
with. I totally look forward to getting some more gear from
you when the finances permit. I can tell you actually care
about how satisfied I am with the pieces that I purchased.....you
just don't find dealers like that.
Thank you so much. Kindly,

I plugged it in and have immediately experienced improvements
in every aspect. Amazing. To use the old analogy, more
than a few panes of 'dirty' glass have been removed between me and
the music. More details are evident immediately, even the wife commented
how much clearer the sound is. Imaging is more stable, pinpoint,
and holographic. Voices and instruments exist in more well-defined
spaces, and are more natural and full sounding. Dynamics are
much improved; I first noted this on acoustic guitar pieces, which
are my single most favorite type of music. Bass is surprisingly
stronger, more well-defined and quicker (overall, the sound is quicker,
transients - snare for instance - are fast! My old setup is
slow by comparison) . The bass change is not as dramatic an
improvement as some of the other aspects I've already mentioned,
but it's not a small change. And pleasingly, the treble is
more airy & accurate-sounding. Overall, more emotion shines
through the speakers. I can actually hear most of the words
in songs now, and the inflection, subtleties, delicacy of the voice
conveys this emotion I mentioned. Of course, I would expect
such dramatic improvements from such a large upgrade: $1000 receiver
pre-outs to a $1700 tubed preamp! But I am ecstatic nonetheless.
I have noticed some subtle improvements in the sound over the past
couple days, break-in I assume.
Thanks again for your great help and service. I have not posted
my comments to audiogon yet but rest assured I will! I am
very busy at work so please be patient.
Thanks again,
S.W.
