The Shanling CD-T100 is a refreshing break from audio dogma. This unit offers the musicality that is demanded by the strictest of audiophiles while providing astonishing looks that are sure to be a conversation piece in any room. The CD-T100 employs the latest in technology from audiophile-grade companies. Upsampling to 24 bit/96 kHz is performed using Crystal’s CS8420 sample rate converter. Four high-performance Burr-Brown PCM1704 chips do the D/A conversion while a second generation Pacific Microsonics PMD-200 decoder chip is used for HDCD decoding. As well four 6N3 tubes give the CD-T100 a well-rounded listenability that is detailed, lively, and, most importantly, musical. For those of you wanting the most from the CD-T100 we offer matched pairs of NOS Western Electric 2C51/396A audio tubes. The addition of the Western Electrics really brings out the best in this unit. In our current reference system we've mated the CD-T100 with Blue Circle BC3 Galatea preamplifier and the recently released BC28 Hybrid amplifier. The results are audio nirvana!
